• About Cultural days

As part of its continuous efforts exerted to connect with the Jordanian society in Amman, the capital, and other governorates, and with a view to provide an integrated, artistic, cultural activities targeting all society segments, the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation launched the "Shoman Cultural Days", through activities that reflect the Foundation's diverse programs, in cooperation with various, relevant cultural and national entities.

The Jabal Amman Cultural Week

In celebration of Jabal Amman, as a cultural hub and cradle in the heart of the Jordanian capital, Amman, the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation holds the Jabal Amman Cultural Week, in partnership with the Jabal Amman Residents Association (JARA), under the auspices of the Municipality of Greater Amman, and in cooperation with various, relevant cultural entities.

The Jabal Amman Cultural Week features several cultural activities and events for different ages and preferences, including international children’s and Jordanian films screening, along with musical and poetry evenings, forums and seminars, a book exhibition with book signing events, as well as children's events, and photo and caricature exhibitions.

Shoman Cultural Days

Irbid Cultural Days

The Shoman Cultural Days in Irbid were organized by the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation, and held under the auspices of the Governor of Irbid in partnership with the Greater Irbid Municipality and cooperation with various cultural and media entities, in October 2016.

The Shoman Cultural Days in Irbid featured many cultural events for different society segments and ages, and included a number of musical evenings, featuring Jordanian musicians, as well as discussions and introductory sessions aimed at highlighting the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation's programs and activities targeting different community groups, in addition to international and scientific film screenings, featuring some of the Yarmouk University’s students’ movies’ production. Furthermore, the Shoman Cultural Days in Irbid encompassed a book fair, which included book signing events, as well as various comedy, entertainment, theatrical and folklore performances and shows.

The Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation was also keen to promote scientific and entertainment activities for children, through the establishment of scientific exhibitions, as well as other activities and events especially dedicated to school students, organized by the Knowledge Path team.

Aqaba Cultural Days

The Shoman Cultural Activities in Aqaba were organized by the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, in collaboration with the Souk by the Sea, Aqaba Archaeological Museum, Goethe-Institut, and Al-Azbakeya Book Market in Amman, in December 2015.

The Shoman Cultural Days in Aqaba featured various cultural events for different society segments and ages at the Souk by the Sea, which included a secondhand book bazar, as well as a caricature exhibition, a concert and music festival, a folk arts exhibition, and book signing events. Furthermore, a variety of activities were offered to the Knowledge Path team, which included children’s creative and artistic activities, along with the Science Film Festival’s movies screening, mural painting activities with the Aqaba Archaeological Museum, as well as other various activities especially designed for school students.

The Shoman Cultural Days in Aqaba also encompassed a variety of other activities, including an introductory session on the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation’s support and grants’ programs and activities, as well as a fine arts exhibition, a cultural showcase of Jordanian Arabic-language drama thriller film, Theeb, along with a satirical comedy show “Made in Jordan”, and a training session targeting the Abdul Hameed Shoman Public Library librarians, held at the Princess Salma Park in Aqaba.

Al-Karak Cultural Days

The Shoman Cultural Days in Al-Karak were organized by the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation, under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Mamdouh Al-Abadi, Minister of State for Prime Minister Affairs, and in cooperation with various cultural and media entities, in April 2017.

The Shoman Cultural Days in Al-Karak featured many cultural events for different society segments and ages, which included a musical evening, featuring an orchestra and Jordanian artists at the Al-Hussein Cultural Center Theater, as well as a book fair, held at the Karak Castle, along with book signing events, as well as a scientific exhibition featuring projects of students participating in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, and those of the Young Innovators Lab. Furthermore, discussions and introductory sessions were also held, so as to highlight the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation’s programs and activities, targeting different community groups, in addition to a variety of movie screening events and folklore performances and plays.

The Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation was also keen to promote scientific and entertainment activities for children, through the establishment of scientific exhibitions, as well as other activities and events especially dedicated to school students, organized by the Knowledge Path team.

Al-Salt Cultural Days

With a diverse array of cultural and entertainment activities, the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation, the Arab Bank’s arm for cultural and social responsibility, launched its cultural days in the city of Al-Salt. The event spanned four consecutive days, starting on July 10, 2019, in collaboration with several institutions and companies.

Under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Marwan Hammoud, the event included cultural and artistic activities, creative workshops for children and youth, musical evenings, film screenings, and various workshops, targeting audiences of all age groups.

The foundation meticulously selected the events, aiming to enhance its ongoing efforts to support creativity and creators, as well as to promote culture and the arts. The program offered a comprehensive cultural and artistic agenda, including activities for children and youth, literary and artistic evenings, book signings, as well as cinematic, folkloric, and artistic performances.

Ma'an Cultural Days

With a vibrant blend of cultural and entertainment activities, the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation, the Arab Bank’s arm for cultural and social responsibility, launched its cultural days in the city of Ma'an. The event took place in July 2024, spanning four days and covering Ma'an, Shobak, and Wadi Musa, in collaboration with several institutions and companies.

Under the patronage of His Excellency Mr. Tawfeeq Kraishan, the event featured more than 70 diverse activities targeting audiences of all age groups. These included movie screenings, science shows for children, training sessions, folkloric performances, forums, book signings, theatrical performances, storytelling for children, and a one-day bus tour that explored all three locations.

The foundation carefully curated the program to align with its mission of supporting creativity and creators while promoting culture and the arts. The agenda offered a rich array of activities, from children’s events and literary gatherings to cinematic and artistic showcases, providing an unforgettable cultural and artistic experience for the community.
