Young Innovators Lab

A hands-on science space for children aged 10–13, where curiosity sparks creativity and small ideas turn into real projects.

At the Young Innovators Lab, we nurture critical thinking and innovation through inspiring challenges and questions. Children explore solutions, test them, and bring their ideas to life.

Participants work with microcontroller kits to design practical solutions for everyday problems, guided by passionate university students who share knowledge, ignite imagination, and support every young innovator until their final project.

Our Mission

  • Create a fun learning environment that fuels curiosity.

  • Provide scientific and technical tools to design real solutions.

  • Building a bridge between generations, with university students leading creative journeys and inspiring children through their experiences.

Program Stages

Application Stage (March–April 2025)


For children: Apply based on announced criteria.

For mentors: Must reside in Amman, be a university student in a science/tech field and available to take part in all program phases.



Selection Stage (April 2025)
Children:

Critical thinking test (CCTST).

Personal interviews to assess candidates’ thinking skills, communication abilities, and social behavior.

Mentors:

Critical thinking test.

Personal interviews

An intensive training program followed by a post-test to evaluate knowledge and commitment.


Training Stage (April 2025)

Children & Youth (June–August 2025)

Critical thinking workshops, hands-on science experiments, electronics – 2 levels, microcontrollers – 2 levels

Arduino, 3D printing, Artificial Intelligence (2 levels), initial and final projects, public speaking skills

Mentors (April 2025):

Critical thinking workshop, microcontroller training, project management, and child protection policy.


Eligibility Criteria

The Young Innovators Lab program accepts two categories of applicants:
• Supervisors who guide young innovators
• Young Innovators

  • Eligibility for Supervisors 
  • Must be a resident of Jordan and able to attend all program phases in-person in Amman.
  • Must be available to participate in all stages of the program.
    • Must be a university student or graduate in a relevant scientific or technological field.


  • Eligibility for Young Innovators
  • Must be a resident of Jordan and able to attend all program phases in-person in Amman.

  • Must be between the ages of 10–13 years (Grades 5, 6, and 7).
  • Must be available to participate in all stages of the program.
