On Wednesday, the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation concluded the training of a workshop specialized in the principles of essay writing, which lasted for four days. The workshop, in which a number of those interested in essay writing participated, was presented by the Director of the Abdul Hameed Shoman Cultural Forum and the Director of Literary Awards, Mowaffaq Malkawi, aimed to broaden the scope of creative writing skills in the field of essay writing, and to teach the basic skills in this field. The workshop dealt with many topics represented in the definition of the essay, its types, the construction of the essay, what should be taken into account when writing, the needs of writing it, preparing for the article, thesis statement and how to write it, writing the introduction and conclusion, solving organizational problems and avoiding common mistakes. It is noteworthy that the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation, The Arab Bank’s Cultural and Social Responsibility arm, is a non-profit organization that invests in knowledge, cultural and social creativity contributing to the advancement of societies in the Arab world through leadership, thought, literature, arts and innovation.
