Shoman Launches the 22nd Edition of the “Abde’” Award

2026-02-01

Amman, February 1 - Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation has launched the 22nd Creative Production Award for Children and Youth (Abde) 2026, under the theme “Creativity Has No Limits.” Open to all school students in Jordan, the award seeks to elevate creative achievements in literature, performing arts, visual arts, and scientific innovation.
Entries for the award are accepted until April 30, 2026.

The award aims to encourage healthy competition among children and youth, highlight their talents, enrich their knowledge, develop their abilities, enhance literary and artistic taste, support innovation, and scientific thinking, and contribute to preparing an informed generation with strong skills and sound Arabic language proficiency.

It also aims to promote a culture of creativity by discovering talented and outstanding children and youth at an early stage, encouraging the use of their creative skills, and strengthening their ability to express opinions and viewpoints.

The award covers the following fields:
•    Literary Creativity: Essay, poetry, short story
•    Performing Arts: Music, dance, singing
•    Visual Arts: Drawing, caricature, Arabic calligraphy
•    Scientific Innovations: Sciences

The award is open to Jordanian and non-Jordanian children and youth residing in Jordan, in the age groups 8–11, 12–15, and 16–18. A new category, Arabic calligraphy, was introduced within the visual arts field.
The Scientific Committee requires that applicants submit only one work per field. Works must be original, created by the applicant, unpublished in previous awards, and for literary submissions, written in standard Arabic. Applicants may choose their own topics.

Children and youth are invited to participate by registering through the award’s website: www.shoman.org/Abde.
Publicity for the award will begin in February, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, coinciding with the start of the second school semester to reach talented students. Activities across several governorates, inspired by the award’s fields, will raise awareness, ensure inclusivity, and support local talent.

The Abde Award reflects Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation’s belief, as Arab Bank’s arm for cultural and social responsibility in the role of children and youth in shaping the future, by giving talented individuals space, knowledge, and a healthy environment to express themselves and develop their creativity.
