2026-03-25

Amman, March 25 – The Scientific Committee of the Creative Production Award for Children and Youth (“Abde”), has invited school students across Jordan to apply for the award’s 22nd edition for 2026, held under the slogan “Creativity Knows No Limits.”

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the committee said the award aims to promote creative output among children and young people in literary, performing and visual arts, as well as scientific innovation.

The award was officially launched on February 1st and will continue to accept submissions until April 30th.

“Abde” seeks to foster positive competition, highlight young talents, enrich knowledge, and develop creative, literary, artistic, and scientific thinking skills, while supporting innovation and the use of standard Arabic language.

The award covers the following fields:

Literary Creativity: essay, poetry, short story
Performing Arts: music, dance, singing
Visual Arts: drawing, caricature, Arabic calligraphy
Scientific Innovations: sciences

The award is open to children and youth—both Jordanians and non-Jordanians residing in Jordan, across the age groups 8–11, 12–15, and 16–18. A new category has also been introduced in visual and fine arts: Arabic calligraphy.

Applicants may submit only one entry per field. Submissions must be original, unpublished, not previously awarded, and literary works must be written in standard Arabic.

Registration is available through the award’s website: www.shoman.org/Abde.

The “Abde” Award reflects Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation’s belief, as the cultural and social responsibility arm of Arab Bank, in the role of children and youth in shaping the future, by providing talented youth with opportunities for expression, learning, and creative growth in a supportive and healthy environment.
