The Film Committee of the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation will screen on Tuesday evening, August 24, at 6:30 p.m. located in the foundation's headquarter, the Mexican film "Wolves" directed by Samuel Kishi. The 2019 film is about post-immigration and identity problems, trying to live in a different country and a different society, and starting a fresh life. The film deals with the story of Max and Leo, aged 8 and 5, traveling from Mexico to the United States with their mother Lucia in search of a better life, while waiting for their mother to return from work, the children notice through the window the dangerous neighborhood in which they live. They spend their time listening to stories and English lessons that their mother leaves them on an old cassette tape, creating afantasy world with their drawings, while waiting eagerly for their mother to uphold her promise to take them on a journey to Disneyland. The 95-minute screening of the film, winner of severalinternational awards, follows a critical discussion about the film's events with the audience.
